SAR CAR

Inspired from the Uttar Pradesh govt move to allow the MLA fund money for the purpose of purchasing SUVs up to 20 lakhs, other states MLA s have started making similar demands from their respective governments. The revolutionary decision came from Uttar Pradesh where MLA Fund has been increased upto 1.5 cr annually from earlier 1.25 crores, keeping in mind the new SUV scheme. According to experts, it is an intelligent move by the UP government to solve multiple problems in just a single shot, on one hand the locomotion problems of the MLAs has been solved while on others it will check corruption as MLAs will now adopt lesser corruption tactics as their annual target has considerably came down.
While some key leaders from the opposition have protested the move and said it’s a moral crime to misuse the taxpayer’s money in purchasing of Vehicles, there are other means as well to do the same. Newly introduced vehicles will emit harmful gases and will pollute more, will put some extra burden of Diesel subsidiary on already troublesome government and such funds can be alternatively used for the creation of Parks and statues, it will be eco friendly and will create beautification and is equally good way to dump the surplus of tax payer’s money.
The business community have taken the decision very positively and are very optimistic now, Sources close to the industry told us that if today MLAs are allowed, tomorrow MLCs will be and day after MPs, things will go on as now we have layered politics at every level may be it is MP-MLAs or the Nagar Parishad or Gram Panchayat. So overall demand is going to increase in all possible scenarios. Keeping eyes on these developments and the prospective future demand, several Multinational auto makers have decided to launch a number of under 20 lakh SUV models in India while the domestic companies have increased hiring and begun the expansion of their production facilities. Sensex closed after gaining hundreds of points from previous close, rally was mainly lead by Auto and O&G counter. Stock experts told it is a kind of stimulus for the auto sector and we appreciate UP govt’s effort for such reforms.
There is an overall mixed response from different state governments in our country, while some states have clearly told no to their MLAs citing the poor condition of the state, at the same time MLAs from some well developed states like Gujarat, Maharashtra, Karnataka, GOA, Delhi are not demanding for SUVs but for personal helicopters with a reasonable arguments of Per capita income based comparison with UP. Some similar response came from Bihar was turned down with an argument that “unless the state acquires special state status no special vehicles!”, where the MLAs demanded similar permission with the argument that if every school going children can be allotted free Bicycles then why not MLAs.
While MPs and MLAs have something to rejoice, let’s wait and watch and see the new dimension of the development strategy the government is adopting and its implications for both, the common and the uncommon man.
